That is why it seems better to treat the whole series as a complete and well thought – through approach. Perhaps similar to extracting one essential, saturated instance from eternity.
It is only then that one can full enjoy the journey among the photographs, and freely cross the border between the universe of objects and the animate matter – travel from the kingdom of plants to the human world. And back again.
This may be an opportunity to observe how seemingly distant things, e.g. a human face or a dry leaf, take on common features, and appear to have similar taste and texture. In Thailand or Burma (where the photographs were made) such notion of the reality around us is completely acceptable. For those who live there, the world is a clever mechanism that brings opposites together – perpetual dying and rebirthing that takes place at any given time. Sometimes live creatures will appear to have come to a complete halt, as the statue of the Buddha. They may seem lost or awaiting transformation somewhere on the edge of the world. They may as well appear to have been gone for a long time. However, with each following photograph, the seemingly dead world will begin to return to life, to absorb the joy of re-creating, or to welcome the magical powers that have for centuries lived next to us – powers not entirely understood and, for sure, not always friendly. This combination of peace and quiet, magic and fear hidden e.g. under tens of tatooed-on charms is the essence of life.
In Anita Andrzejewska’s photographs one can see life buried in the thick Asian reality that completes a full circle incarnating into many different forms of matter – with each turn, full of harmony and a perfect, sensual beauty.

Na ostatnich fotografiach Anity Andrzejewskiej świat wydaje się jednością. Jest coś takiego w klimacie tych zdjęć, ich kompozycji, świetle, że każde stanowi istotny element całości i dlatego lepiej traktować cały zbiór jak jedno pełne i przemyślane spojrzenie, trochę jak urwanie jednej ważnej, nasyconej chwili z wieczności.
Dopiero wtedy możemy w pełni cieszyć się podróżą wśród fotografii, przechodzić swobodnie ze świata przedmiotów do materii ożywionej, przenikać ze świata roślin do królestwa ludzi, a potem zawracać.
Być może zauważymy wtedy, jak z pozoru odległe rzeczy, choćby ludzka twarz i suchy liść, nabierają wspólnych kształtów, zdają się być podobne w dotyku, zapachu.
W Tajlandii czy Birmie, bo stamtąd pochodzą zdjęcia, takie pojmowanie otaczającej nas rzeczywistości jest zupełnie zrozumiałe, dla tych ludzi świat jest przemyślanym mechanizmem łączącym przeciwieństwa, wiecznym umieraniem i odradzaniem się, które następuje w każdym momencie. Czasem żywe stworzenia sprawiać będą na nas wrażenie zastygłych w spokoju jak posągi Buddy, czasem zagubionych lub oczekujących na przemianę gdzieś przy granicy światów lub wręcz od dawna obumarłych. Jednocześnie na kolejnych fotografiach martwy z pozoru świat zacznie ożywać, nasiąkać radością tworzenia na nowo albo zapraszać magiczne siły, zamieszkałe tuż obok nas od wieków, nie do końca zrozumiane i pewnie nie zawsze przyjazne.
To połączenie ciszy i spokoju, magii i strachu ukrytego np. pod dziesiątkami wytatuowanych zaklęć przeciwko złym mocom, jest istotą życia. Na zdjęciach Anity Andrzejewskiej widać życie, zatopione w gęstej azjatyckiej rzeczywistości, które toczy się kołem wcielając w różne formy materii, za każdym razem pełne harmonii i doskonałego, zmysłowego piękna.
